Emerald Ash Borer
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently confirmed the presence of the insect Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) within an ash tree in the Village limits. According to the DNR, EAB is an invasive, wood boring beetle that kills ash trees by feeding on the inner bark and starving the tree. More information on the Emerald Ash Borer in Wisconsin can be found at http://datcpservices.wisconsin.gov/eab/index.jsp. The Village has taken proactive steps to address the situation, include establishing a cost-share program for EAB treatment for residents with ash trees in the street terrace area.
